SHEIN Accessibility Policy and Statement
Web and Mobile Application Accessibility — EU Compliance and User Guide
Quick Navigation
1. Our commitment to accessibility
At SHEIN, we are committed to making our digital platforms accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the accessibility, usability, and compatibility of our websites, mobile applications, and related digital services.
Our accessibility efforts are designed to support compliance with applicable accessibility requirements, including:
● The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882), as implemented in the national laws of EU Member States where our services are offered.
● The harmonized standard EN 301 549
● The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 / 2.2, Level AA, with ongoing consideration of relevant WCAG updates.
This policy serves two purposes: (1) it discloses our current compliance status and known limitations (Sections 4 and 8), and (2) it explains the accessibility features available on SHEIN digital platforms and how to use them (Sections 6–7).
2. Service provider information and statement
Service provider: Infinite Styles Services Co, Ltd, with registered address at The Sidings, 4th Floor, Grand Canal Quay, Dublin 2, D02 E7K8, Ireland
Contact for accessibility issues: Customer Service Platform .
Statement using the following assessment method: internal accessibility audits.
Testing was carried out in the following environments:
● Operating systems: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android
● Browsers: Chrome, Safari
● Assistive technologies: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack
This statement is reviewed at least once a year and whenever the service undergoes significant changes. The last review took place on 23 rd July 2026.
3. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to SHEIN's digital services, including:
● SHEIN websites accessed through desktop or mobile browsers.
● SHEIN mobile applications.
● SHEIN mobile web or progressive web app experiences, where available.
● Key digital shopping functions, including browsing, product information, account settings, cart, checkout, access to customer support, and service-related information.
Some features described in this policy may vary depending on country or region, device type, operating system, browser, application version, or technical availability.
4. Compliance status
Based on internal audits, this website and mobile application comply with WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 Level AA and EN 301 549, except for one point considered partially compliant. "Partially compliant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard, as detailed below.
4.1 Known accessibility barriers
Dynamic content and font size
● In a limited number of non-essential service scenarios, text cannot be reliably enlarged to 200% without loss of readability or layout because interface constraints impose a fixed font format. These constraints also prevent adjustment of letter spacing and other typographic modifications that would facilitate readability at large sizes.
We are actively working to resolve these issues as part of an ongoing compliance program, prioritizing based on user impact. This list is reviewed and updated as issues are resolved or newly identified.
5. Important notice regarding device, browser, and operating system dependency
SHEIN's accessibility features are designed to work with your device's built-in accessibility technology to the extent possible. The availability, performance, and behavior of certain accessibility features may depend on the following factors:
| Factor | Examples |
| Operating system | iOS, Android, Windows, macOS |
| Device settings | Font size, contrast, orientation lock, screen reader settings |
| Browser | Chrome, Safari |
| Assistive technology | VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, JAWS |
| Application or browser version | Older versions may not support all accessibility features |
For the best experience, we recommend that you:
● Keep your device's operating system up to date.
● Keep your SHEIN app updated to the latest available version.
● Use an up-to-date browser.
● Ensure your preferred assistive technology is enabled and properly configured.
This reliance on user devices does not alter our own obligations: the compliance level and remediation commitments referenced in Section 4 apply to the SHEIN implementation itself, regardless of the device used to access it.
6. How to access accessibility settings
SHEIN provides accessibility controls that allow users to adjust certain features according to their needs. These controls are designed to work with your device's native accessibility settings.
On the SHEIN app or mobile site
Go to: Personal Center → Settings → Accessibility
On the desktop website
Go to: Personal Center → Accessibility
The Accessibility entry may appear in the left sidebar, including under the policies or settings section, depending on your device, screen size, and platform layout.
Note: Menu names, locations, and display may vary depending on device type, screen resolution, operating system, browser, and app version.
7. Key accessibility features and how to use them
7A. Pop-up and message control
Feature: Allows certain alerts, tooltips, pop-up messages, dialog boxes, and popovers to remain visible longer, so that users have enough time to read and understand them.
How to enable it: Go to Personal Center → Settings → Accessibility → Pop-up and Message Control, then turn on the setting.
When enabled, eligible messages remain visible until you manually close them, tap or click outside the message area (if supported), or take another action that moves you to the next step or screen.
You can close messages by selecting the "X" or Close button, or by tapping or clicking outside the message area, if available.
Some system-wide alerts and notifications are controlled by your device's operating system and not by SHEIN — for example, Android's "Time to take action" setting, or iOS system accessibility and notification settings, may modify display duration.
7B. Dynamic text size adjustment
What this feature does: Enables dynamic text scaling to assist users with low vision or based on their reading preferences. When technically feasible, text can be enlarged up to 200% while maintaining readability and page structure.
You generally don't need to change a setting in the SHEIN app — SHEIN is designed to respond to your device's font size settings or your browser's zoom settings.
On iOS or Android: Go to Settings → Accessibility → Display and Text Size, then increase the font or display size. The SHEIN app should automatically reflect supported changes.
On desktop: use your browser's zoom function (Windows: Ctrl + ⊕; macOS: Cmd + ⊕). You can zoom up to 200%, depending on your browser and device settings.
Text enlargement depends on your operating system, browser, and device settings. If your device or browser does not support font enlargement, or does not pass enlargement preferences to the SHEIN platform, text may not enlarge as expected. If you significantly enlarge the text, SHEIN may display a message explaining that the layout has been adapted to facilitate access to information.
7C. High color contrast
How this feature works: Improves readability by increasing the contrast of text, buttons, borders, promotional labels, and other important interface elements.
SHEIN aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA contrast recommendations, including:
How to enable it: Enable high contrast or increase contrast in your device or computer operating system settings – for example, "Increase Contrast" on iOS/macOS, high contrast mode on Windows, or display/accessibility contrast settings on Android. If supported, SHEIN will detect these settings and adjust visual elements accordingly.
This feature depends on communication between your operating system and your browser regarding your contrast preferences for SHEIN. If automatic detection is not supported, you can still improve visibility by manually adjusting device display settings, browser appearance, screen brightness/contrast, or operating system colors/themes.
7D. Screen orientation lock
Feature: Allows users to choose a screen orientation preference in the SHEIN app, such as portrait or landscape mode. This may be useful for users whose devices are mounted on wheelchairs, stands, or other equipment, or for those who prefer a specific display orientation.
How to use it: Go to Personal Center → Settings → Accessibility → Screen Orientation, then choose Portrait or Landscape.
Changing the screen orientation may reload the page. Before the change takes effect, SHEIN may display a confirmation message, for example: "Changing the screen orientation will reload the page. Any unsaved progress in your review may be lost." Please save or complete any important activity before changing the screen orientation.
Device rotation lock settings, managed by your operating system, may override the orientation setting in the SHEIN app. For example, if your phone's rotation lock is enabled, SHEIN may not be able to change the app's orientation until you modify the setting at the device level.
7E. Screen readers and keyboard navigation
Screen readers: SHEIN mobile apps are designed to work with native screen readers, including VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android).
SHEIN strives to provide clear labels and descriptions for key interface elements, including product images, buttons, form fields, navigation controls, promotional banners, and cart and checkout actions. Where applicable, SHEIN uses alt text, accessibility labels, and ARIA attributes to help screen readers understand page content and available actions.
Keyboard navigation: On desktop, users can navigate many parts of the SHEIN website using a keyboard:
● Press the Tab key to move to the next interactive element.
● Press Shift + Tab to move to the previous interactive element.
● Press Enter or Space to activate selected buttons or links, where applicable.
SHEIN also provides visible focus indicators to help users identify the currently selected element when navigating menus, product lists, forms, and checkout pages.
Screen reader and keyboard behavior depends on your operating system, browser, active screen reader or assistive technology, device and keyboard settings, and the version of the SHEIN app or website you are using. Please ensure your assistive technology (VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, or JAWS) is enabled and properly configured in your system settings.
8. Compliance with the European Accessibility Act and support services
In accordance with the applicable accessibility requirements under the European Accessibility Act and related national transposition laws, SHEIN strives to provide accessible digital services and support. Our current compliance status and known limitations are presented in Section 4; this section describes the support services made available to users.
Accessible information about services and products
SHEIN aims to provide important information about its services — including product details, account information, checkout steps, customer service access, and policy information — in clear digital formats compatible with commonly used assistive technologies.
Accessible support services
SHEIN's customer support services are intended to assist users, including users with disabilities, through accessible communication channels where available.
Alternative accessible formats
If you require this policy, SHEIN's terms and conditions, service information or other important documents in an alternative accessible format, you can contact us using the contact details indicated in section 9. Alternative formats may include, where reasonably available:
● Large print text.

We strive to address accessibility feedback as promptly as possible and, in any case, within the applicable legal timeframes, and to provide a concrete solution or update within a reasonable time and, in any case, within the applicable legal timeframes.
SHEIN will review accessibility feedback and use it to support the continuous improvement of its digital services.
10. Enforcement procedure
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can bring the matter before the accessibility enforcement authority designated in your country of residence. Since the European Accessibility Directive is enforced independently by each EU Member State, the competent authority and procedure vary by country.
| Country | Designated authority | Contact |
| France | Direction générale de la Concurrence, de la Consommation et de la Répression des Fraudes (DGCCRF) | SignalConso — dedicated public channel for reporting: https://signal.conso.gouv.fr |
11. Ongoing compliance and review
SHEIN maintains internal procedures to monitor, test and progressively improve accessibility compliance on the website and app, including accessibility check steps in the development cycle, periodic third-party audits and staff training.
This policy, including the compliance status in section 4, is reviewed and updated at least once a year, and whenever significant changes are made to the service.
