Review: Okay it came disassembled, but it was easy to figure out. The plastic spools thingys I got didn't fit properly and it was a pain at first since they wouldn't stop moving around when I spun them. But I figured that I could stop that simply by adding a small elastic band behind as shown in the second picture. Is it necessary? no, not really. you can always spin the spools by hand. Does it save you time and effort? Yes, quite a bit. I mean you still gotta put in the time but you do save time, the hardest part is to prevent the thread from tangling but that also happens when you do it by hand. And it is so much more easy than doing it by hand. as in it's much more gentle on your writsts and fingers. especially if you have a lot of threads to wind. All in all I think, FOR THE PRICE, it's worth it. As I was using it I kept thinking of future archeologists unearthing this contraption and being like "people in the 21st century sure made smart devices!"
