Review: The museum was founded by the artist Fernando Zóbel in 1966. It is located in the Casas Colgadas, a special medieval building that forms part of the historic city center of Cuenca. In 1980, Fernando Zóbel donated to the Fundación Juan March his collection of paintings, sculpture, drawings and graphic works, as well as his personal library, a collection of his diaries and more than one hundred and thirty notebooks. Since then, the Fundación has been the museum's holder and is responsible for the preservation and update of its legacy, which it has enriched with its own collection and new acquisitions.
