In automatic mode, the voltage-sensitive VSR relay handles the connection and disconnection independently, depending on the charging voltage. This allows the alternator to charge both batteries simultaneously and disconnect them again when the engine is off, without any manual intervention. The integrated display shows the current operating status at the touch of a button, simplifying on-the-go diagnostics. You can immediately see whether the auxiliary battery is connected and whether it is charging – useful when connecting a cooler, winch, or inverter. The voltage ranges are clearly defined, ensuring transparency regarding the energy status. The VSR controller automatically disconnects the battery if the voltage is too low or too high, preventing deep discharge of the starter battery and overcharging of the auxiliary battery. Models with extended thresholds (e.g., disconnecting below 11 V or above 17 V) enhance device protection, while variants with 13.3 V input and 12.8 V output are particularly well-suited for everyday use with alternators. Depending on the model, positive and negative cables in appropriate lengths, marine terminals, fuse holders, cable lugs, heat shrink tubing, cable ties, and mounting hardware are included. Pre-wired ends and a compact housing size of 68 x 68 x 56 mm facilitate installation in the engine compartment or under seat consoles. The JDQTJ-2M/4M/5M/6M series switches on at 13.3 V and off at 12.8 V and is IP65 rated. The cable assemblies differ primarily in the length of the positive cable: 2 m, 4 m, 5 m, or 6 m – ideal for adapting to vehicle length and battery location. Materials vary: The VSR002 features an ABS housing for low system weight, while the JDQTJ series has a nylon housing and more extensive accessories, including fuse holders, marine terminal clamps, a drill bit, and cable protection tubing. Current ratings: The JDQTJ series is rated at 140 A continuous and 160 A peak, while the VSR002 specifies 100 A continuous and 140 A peak for up to 5 minutes – select the appropriate rating based on the load.
